Determining the cause of fires and accidents is a very complex task. In order to determine these causes, it is necessary to carry out extensive investigations at the scene of the accident. It is also necessary to compile comprehensive documentation so that the appropriate conclusions can be drawn later. The use of our own laboratory vehicle makes it impossible for us to carry out the initial findings on site as quickly as possible. The vehicle in question is equipped with the necessary equipment to carry out appropriate documentation and findings on site.

The cause of the fire is usually determined using the elimination method. Based on the ignition source key, the possible ignition sources are treated and analyzed accordingly. The ignition sources are also used for the fire damage statistics of the Austrian fire prevention authorities in order to enable corresponding derivations for the fire protection regulations.

These are:

Lightning strike

Spontaneous combustion

Heating devices

mechanical energy

electrical energy

Open fire and light

Arson

Other and unknown causes

For the assessment of the incident in question, this key is again significantly refined and constantly adapted to the latest findings.
As a cause investigator, it is now necessary to evaluate and assess the findings from the scene of the accident or fire with the information from witnesses and existing documents on the original condition based on the generally known physical properties. This results in a thesis of the course of the accident. However, it follows from this that even if there is a possible thesis for the accident or fire, this must correspond to the expected effects. If this is not the case, the possible cause must be questioned.

The aim here is to clearly and comprehensibly determine the cause of the accident, incident or fire in question.

This cause subsequently serves our client for:

Legal assessments in the course of jurisdictions

Assessment of liability in relation to insurance matters

Determination of product risks and product liability

Support in civil and criminal proceedings

...

In order to carry out a comprehensive assessment and appraisal, we also work closely with a network of various experts, psychologists, detective agencies, laboratories, etc. on an ongoing basis. Only in this way is it possible to offer our clients a high-quality service.
